Delightful Rosé Wines for Spring and Summer

Spring is Here! Time to Load Up on Rosé

With the onset of Spring, the vines in the vineyards in Napa and Sonoma Counties are exhibiting signs of Bud Break, signaling the beginning of the 2024 growing season.

In the vineyards, a watchful eye is kept on the possibility of potential frost alerts, which could effect the crop yield and remainder of the growing season. Fingers crossed. 🤞

In any event, Spring is time when warmer weather is in the air and a time to stock up on some Rosé wines.

Below are a few of our favorites.

Tasting Notes: “The Soalheiro 2022 Mineral Rosé of Alvarihno and Pinot Noir is exuberant and elegantly layered with aromas of wet stones, rose petals, lime zest, blood orange, lychee, and white strawberry. On the palate, the wine is crisp and complex with flavors of strawberry cream, grapefruit, pear, and lychee. This wine has bright acidity that perfectly complements the fresh fruit and minerality that dances into a brilliant finish.”

Tasting Notes: “Flowers 2022 Sonoma Coast Rosé of Pinot Noir is vibrant and fresh with notes of orange blossoms, hints of rose petals, orange zest, grapefruit, white raspberries, salinity, and seashells. The flavors of peach, strawberry, nectarine, and green mango add another dimension of complexity to the palate, balanced by refreshing acidity and a long, vibrant finish. This wine goes down easily, especially poolside, but also makes a lovely companion with charcuterie on summer days.”

Winery Notes: “Coming from Edna Valley, picked at a lighter Brix than for red wine, the Pinot Noir variety is perfect for a crisp light Rosé. Underripe strawberry and grapefruit on the nose and when you taste this wine, you get bright citrus tones that are nicely balanced with the fresh acidity.”
