Andy Erickson is one of California’s most respected and in-demand winemakers, and Leviathan California Red Wine was his creation.
Leviathan is Californian through and through. Created unbound by tradition to showcase the vintage’s most potent characteristics, Leviathan captures the essence of a New World winemaker’s freedom to create a wine outside the bounds of single appellations or classic varietal blends.

Andy grew up in the Midwest, and after spending a summer in France, he began his winemaking journey in Napa Valley before exploring winemaking in Mendoza, Argentina, for a few years.
Upon Andy’s return to Napa, he worked under several renowned winemakers, including Paul Hobbs, John Kongsgaard, and Michel Rolland, and earned his Master’s Degree in Enology from UC Davis.
During his college studies, he worked at Spottswoode and Saintsbury wineries, which led him to ten years of winemaking for some of Napa Valley’s top estates, including Harlan Estate, Screaming Eagle, Arietta, and Staglin Family Vineyards, to name a few. Andy is also the consulting winemaker for highly-acclaimed wineries such as To Kalon Vineyard Company, Alph Omega, Arietta, and Mayacamas.
Propelled by his access to some of the most exceptional vineyards in Northern California, Andy founded Leviathan in 2004 to showcase the freedom of American winemaking without rigid appellation requirements.
For the 2021 blend, Andy blends 63% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Petite Syrah, Syrah, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Franc from some of his favorite plots in Northern California, then aged 15 months in French oak for a distinct, captivating California red wine.

Savory spices and star anise meld with mineral, graphite, bay, and laurel reflective of the rocky Northern California terrain.
