CASA PIENA
2015 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
ESTATE GROWN
NAPA VALLEY

Carmen Policy has had a celebrated 25-year career as an executive in the NFL, including playing a key role in all five of the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl winning teams, and also 5 years as President, CEO and part owner of the Cleveland Browns.

After a storied career in professional sports, Carmen and his wife Gail knew it was time for a change. The amazing lifestyle and challenges that a vineyard and winery presented seemed to be an irresistible opportunity too good to pass up. But they insisted on doing it right and produce some of the finest wines in the world.

To help Carmen and Gail achieve their goals, they hired some of the best and most talented professionals in the Napa Valley wine industry; Jim Barbour as Vineyard Manager who has planted and farmed some of the most revered vineyards in Napa Valley, including Hundred Acre, Grace Family, Revana, Amuse Bouche, and the list goes on.

To craft their wines, Carmen and Gail hired Thomas Rivers Brown, one of Napa Valley’s most in-demand winemakers, whose current and past clients include Schrader, Revana, Outpost, Maybach, and Hall-of-Famer Tom Seaver’s brand, GTS, to name a few.

Napa Valley’s 2015 harvest produced a small crop of concentrated berries, leading to powerful, intensely flavorful, and complex Cabernet Sauvignon that is entering a seductive period in its aging and is guaranteed to indulge the senses for years to come.

“The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is gorgeous. Lifted, floral and beautifully perfumed, the 2015 has come together nicely since I last tasted it. The 2015 has so much to offer. Specifically, it is remarkably nuanced for such an overly ripe, racy wine. A rush of sweet red berry, kirsch, mint and rose petal graces the expressive, inviting finish. This is a terrific showing from proprietor Carmen Policy and winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown.” —Antonio Galloni

“The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is sensational, and also the greatest wine I have tasted from Massimo and Erin Di Costanzo. All the elements are so well balanced. Black cherry, plum, tobacco, dried herbs and leather literally explode from the glass. Readers who can find the 2019 should not hesitate, as it is a major-league wine.”

“Coming from two vineyards, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer sports a vivid purple hue to go with beautiful aromatics of darker currants, ripe cranberries, leafy tobacco, and spring flowers. I love its balance, it’s medium to full-bodied, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish.”
