ARIETTA
2019 QUARTET
PROPRIETARY RED WINE BLEND

NAPA VALLEY

Arietta Winery has a highly respected reputation for producing impeccably balanced wines crafted with fruit from top vineyards in Napa Valley. Arietta’s wines are inspired by music, and the belief that great wines should sing with balance, vibrancy and depth.

Arietta’s Quartet is a Bordeaux-style blend that exudes these characteristics in spades. Wine Enthusiast contributing editor, Virginie Boone seems to agree rating the 2019 Quartet 95 Points and calling it, an “…exceptional wine….”

Arietta is able to achieve this with the right instruments (super-premium grapes), and the help of gifted composer/winemaker Andy Erickson.

Andy made Screaming Eagle from 2005-2010. He also makes the To Kalon Vineyard Company wine, as well as Mayacamas, which in the last two consecutive vintages ranked #2 and #4 on Wine Spectator Top 100.

Cabernet Sauvignon takes center-stage in the 2019 Quartet, followed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wine was finely tuned for 20 months in oak and makes its entrance from one of Napa’s most exceptional vintages.

The winery sources fruit from strategically selected growers throughout Napa Valley. 2019 was another nearly flawless vintage with a similar hedonistic appeal and depth of aroma and flavors to 2018 but with slightly lower yields giving focused precision, concentration, and intensity.

If you’re looking for a stunningly complex and deeply hedonistic blend that punches way above its weight class, this one is absolutely singing.

Brought to life by winemaker Andy Erickson, who made Screaming Eagle from 2005 – 2010, and Mayacamas, which ranked #2 in the 2019 Wine Spectator Top 100, Ellman wines represent Andy’s cumulative experience, combined with expert farming and a proprietor’s distinct vision. Brother’s Blend, named after the Ellman brothers Neil and Lance, is nearly 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, accentuated with Merlot, and is aged in barrels for 22 months.

From Antonio Galloni’s Vinous Media: “The 2018 Proprietary Red Blend Brothers Blend is dense, plush and explosive. A rush of black cherry, menthol, licorice, cloves and mocha gives the 2018 its exuberant personality. This fleshy, voluptuous red has so much to offer. Bright floral notes and a burst of red raspberry fruit punctuate the finish. This is a terrific entry-level red.” 94 Points

Another Andy Erickson creation, the 2019 Leviathan is one of the best value Red Wine Blends on the market.

From James Suckling: “Very pure fruit this year with ripe raspberries and fresh currants throughout. Full-to medium-bodied with soft, polished tannins and bright, clean fruit. It’s really balanced and the finish and makes you want to drink it. Subtle and vivid fruit at the end. Yet, it can improve with age. Blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and petite verdot. Drink or hold.” 95 Points
