BAKER & HAMILTON
2021 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
OAKVILLE | NAPA VALLEY
The Phillips family are the custodians of the illustrious Vine Hill Ranch and the visionary forces behind the Baker & Hamilton Cabernet Sauvignon originating from the VHR vineyard in the Oakville AVA of Napa Valley. You may already know that Vine Hill Ranch is what many consider “ground zero” for top-tier Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley. The VHR vineyard has been the source of many critically acclaimed wines, including those from TOR, Heimark, Accendo, Cakebread, and the highly rated Vine Hill Ranch wines.
Now, managing a vineyard of this caliber isn’t a stroll through the grapevines; it’s an art. Enter Mike Wolf, one of Napa Valley’s viticulture virtuosos. With a resumé that includes gems like To-Kalon and Scarecrow, he’s the behind-the-scenes magician who ensures that each grape cluster reaches its full potential.
Still not convinced? Let’s bring in Françoise Peschon, the winemaker for this liquid masterpiece. Françoise is best known for her work at the esteemed Araujo Estate from 1993 to 2013 (now known as Eisele Vineyard). She’s also the consulting winemaker for Vine Hill Ranch and a handful of other boutique labels.
In short, it’s a wine that’s borne out of a dream team. At $150 a bottle, you’re not just investing in a Cabernet; you’re investing in a story, a legacy, and a bottle of what could very well become your new favorite wine.
Pour yourself into this experience and elevate your wine collection. Trust us; you’ll want to tell everyone that you were one of the first to discover the magic that is Baker & Hamilton 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon.
BAKER & HAMILTON
2021 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
OAKVILLE | NAPA VALLEY
$150
Tasting Notes: “Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery scents of kirsch, black raspberries, red roses, and clove oil with suggestions of sandalwood and dusty soil. The full-bodied palate is electric with tension and energetic red and black fruit layers, supported by fine-grained tannins, finishing long and minerally. 546 cases were made.” 95 Points | Lisa Perrotti-Brown | The Wine Independent
Tasting Notes: “A balance and beauty of red fruits with black berries, black currants and black cherries with some flowers. It’s medium-bodied with firm and refined tannins that give this wine presence yet it’s so refined and harmonious making you want to drink it now. It will age beautifully but no reason really to age it.” 95 Points | James Suckling

Tasting Notes: “The Misc. Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 begins with a nose of ripe boysenberry syrup, bing cherries, milk chocolate, and sweet vanilla. The palate continues with concentrated blackberries, wild berry cobbler, violets, and cocoa powder. The fruit on the nose is so sweet that it made me think this wine may have some residual sugar, but thankfully, it is bone dry on the palate, a testament to high-quality fruit. I’ve tasted this wine twice, and the most recent was over these holidays with my wife Lynda’s Citrus Balsamic glazed Creekstone Farms Prime Rib and it was spectacular, with rich fruit, concentrated flavors, and a long-lasting, rich, satisfying finish.”
95 Points | Kevin M. Vogt, Master Sommelier
Tasting Notes: “A solid Altagracia with currants, blueberries and pine and bark aromas and some sweet tobacco. Aromas that follow through on the palate to a full body with a well-framed tannin profile. Crunchy at the end. Juicy too. Needs as couple of years to come together. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Best after 2027.”
96 Points | James Suckling
