RAEN was founded by brothers Dante and Carlos Mondavi in 2013 with a strong focus on sustainability, farming prized plots of Pinot Noir in the Sonoma Coast AVA.
Carlo and Dante Mondavi are fourth-generation winemakers who grew up on the Opus One estate and credit much of their knowledge to their grandfather, Robert Mondavi, and father, Tim Mondavi. Their family planted Pinot Noir vines over a century ago, and Tim, with a pioneering spirit, spearheaded the cultivation of the variety in the early 1970s, passing his devotion onto his sons.
Named in honor of their legendary grandfather, Royal St Robert Cuvée comes from carefully chosen coastal vineyards that beautifully encapsulate the character of the rugged, cool-climate Sonoma Coast AVA, a wine Robert would be proud of.
On a side note, the previous vintage ranked #4 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 last year, solidifying this wine as one of California’s finest Pinot Noirs.

Full-bodied yet agile and energetic with layers of fine dusty tannins. Entrancing finish. Give this four or five years in the bottle, but it’s hard not to drink.”
