ROYAL ST. ROBERT CUVÉE
SONOMA COAST

RAEN’s 2023 Royal St. Robert Cuvée Pinot Noir is a truly exceptional wine. Its purity is striking, its complexity expansive, and its balance flawless.

Following the acclaimed 2021 vintage, which achieved the #4 spot in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2023 and garnered consistent high 90s scores, the 2023 release reaches new heights.

(Watch the video below that details RAEN’s origins and philosophy)

RAEN was founded in 2013 by the visionary brothers Carlo and Dante Mondavi, who are dedicated to carrying forward a rich and storied family legacy in the art of California winemaking. Growing up in the esteemed environment of Opus One, they absorbed invaluable lessons from their father, Tim, while also inheriting the unwavering commitment to quality that their grandfather, Robert, exemplified.

At RAEN, they embrace a Burgundian philosophy, meticulously crafting Pinot Noirs that beautifully express the distinctive character of their Sonoma Coast vineyards. The Royal St. Robert Cuvée is a heartfelt tribute to their grandfather, showcasing a remarkable Pinot Noir that is crafted from a selection of carefully chosen coastal vineyards.

This wine captures the untamed elegance of the Sonoma Coast cool-climate appellation, offering a sensory experience that is both profound and memorable.

The 2023 vintage has emerged as a resounding triumph, earning an impressive near-perfect score and establishing itself as one of the most sought-after wines in the market.

Tasting Notes: “An amazingly complex, dynamic wine that demands your attention from the first sniff to the lingering finish. Aromas of redwood forest, rosemary, purple flowers and black cherries, then black tea, pomegranate, dark cherry, dried raspberry and wild mushroom flavors. Fine-grained moderate tannins and crunchy acidity give it such a firm backbone. Drink now or hold.”
