Tasting Notes: “Dan Kosta’s Convene wines are aged in 30% new oak, while his elevated DK label is closer to 50% for 15 months and encompasses specific blocks or barrel selections from single vineyards. Campbell Ranch vineyard in the Russian River Valley is the winery’s largest holding, with clones 777 and 115. There’s more power and intensity to these single vineyard wines. A wonderful minty freshness mingles with crushed river stones, white pepper, and intriguing umami notes. Medium to full-bodied with very present, substantial tannins that have beam-like qualities, a bit sappy and balanced by mocha notes. The entire wine has a broad feeling on the palate and builds with spicy richness. It’s layered with dense black cherry, pomegranate, spiced plums, and blood orange fruits, which have real staying power. The long finish is marked by warming brown sugar spices, toffee, and espresso beans. Plenty of heft balanced by great tension. 503 cases made.”
97 Points | Jonathan Cristaldi | Decanter

Tasting Notes: “Aromas of macerated cherries, strawberries, cinnamon and clove jump from the glass of this powerful Pinot. The palate brings waves of raspberry liqueur and licorice flavors in a muscular, but balanced framework. Give this a few years in the cellar and it will blossom. Drink 2028–2045.”

Tasting Notes: “The 2022 Convene Russian River Valley Pinot Noir unfolds with an inviting nose of candied cherries, their sweetness tempered by warm fall pie spices. A hint of cola bean weaves through the fruit, threaded with a minerally tinge of wet slate and lifted by delicate white rose petals. On the palate, it delivers a refined intensity—concentrated cherry compote and vibrant mixed berries intertwine, lush and ripe yet heightened by a bright, fresh core. Subtle liquid saline adds complexity, while elegant, satiny fruit tannins frame its structure, leading to a finish that lingers long and leaves you ultimately satisfied. A wine of poise and presence, it earns its stature with refinement, style, and grace.”

Tasting Notes: “A tightly focused beam of bitter cherry, damson plum and raspberry coulis streams through this red, with mouthwatering cut in the form of ocean breeze minerality that runs throughout. Iris and rose hip notes fill in the background as the long, piercing finish shows a remarkably pure and unadorned feel. A high-definition Pinot. Drink now through 2035. 3,650 cases made.”
