FLOWERS VINEYARDS & WINERY
2019 PINOT NOIR
SONOMA COAST
Flowers Vineyard and Winery’s coastal proximity and high-elevation vineyards give their wine its distinct minerality and fresh acidity. Farmed sustainably, fermented with 100% native yeast and crafted with minimal intervention in the cellar, Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a pure expression of the rugged and extreme Sonoma Coast.
Flowers Vineyards and Winery proprietors were among the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA early pioneers that recognized the potential of growing cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the rugged, isolated Sonoma Coast, often referred to as the “Extreme Sonoma Coast.”
Their organic and biodynamic approach to farming is part of their continued commitment to respect the environment and cultivate healthier vines for higher quality wines.
The 2019 vintage started quite cool with some snow on the estate that helped oxygenate the soils, bringing vital nutrients to the vines.
The cool coastal temperatures throughout the summer allowed for slow ripening and intricate flavor development that is unforgettably irresistible, resulting in this remarkable expression of coastal Pinot Noir.

From JebDunnuck.com, “Moving to the reds, there are three Sonoma Coast and one Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The 2019 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is deeper ruby-hued and has pure, classic, textbook notes of ripe cherries, raspberries, spring flowers, and underbrush. The balance is spot on, it has ripe, present tannins, good freshness, and a great finish.”

ANDERSON VALLEY

From Wine Enthusiast: “Concentrated but also nervy in texture, this full-bodied wine is driven by pure black-cherry and raspberry flavors while oak accents of cinnamon and nutmeg stay just under the surface.”

Winery Notes: “The 2018 vintage turned up the amplitude on our Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, it is a surprisingly intense wine that retains its elegance and delicacy. The aromatics are dominated by dark flavors of Earl Grey tea, cassis, black licorice, and ganache. Hints of Spanish Cedar and cloves add further spice, while black cherry, the signature fruit of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, provides the backbone. In the mouth, layers of spice and fruit continue with flavors of blood orange, pomegranate, persimmon, and more black cherry mingle with notes of black tea, dark chocolate, and anis. The bright acid and silky tannins give the wine a fresh vibrancy.”
