LONG SHADOWS VINTNERS COLLECTION
2019 FEATHER
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
COLUMBIA VALLEY | WA
Allen Shoup, a prominent visionary in the Washington wine industry, launched the Long Shadows Vintners Collection in 2002. His vision was to recruit international, prominent winemakers to create super-premium wines that reflect the viticultural excellence of the state, including Randy Dunn’s 2019 Feather Cabernet Sauvignon.
Allen Shoup, a leading figure in the Washington wine industry, spent years building the Chateau Ste. Michelle brand and its affiliate wineries to achieve international recognition. In 2002, Allen retired from Chateau Ste. Michelle to launch Long Shadows Vintners Collection, a new and ambitious project aimed at taking Washington wines to the next level.
To achieve this, Allen brought in renowned international winemakers, including the ambitious French native Gilles Nicault, who became the Director of Winemaking. Gilles was chosen for his extensive knowledge, flexibility, and eagerness to merge his winemaking skills with each vintner.
Each winemaker joined the team as a co-owner of their wine, hoping to learn more about Washington’s vineyards and embrace the state’s viticultural excellence. One of the wines that reflect this commitment to quality is Randy Dunn’s 2019 Feather Cabernet Sauvignon, which he expertly crafted using hand-harvested grapes aged for 22 months in 85% new French oak. With over 40 years of experience making wine in Napa Valley, Randy Dunn has brought a new level of sophistication to the Columbia Valley.
In summary, Long Shadows Vintners Collection is a testament to Allen Shoup’s vision and the winemakers’ passion for creating exceptional wines that showcase Washington’s unique terroir.

2019 FEATHER
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
COLUMBIA VALLEY | WA
$75
95 Points | JebDunnuck.com
“All Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Feather is a rich, powerful wine loaded with notions of cassis, graphite, scorched earth, and crushed stone. Full-bodied on the palate and concentrated, it has building tannins, a great mid-palate, and the balance and class to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and, I suspect, evolve for decades.”
93 Points | WineSpectator.com
“Refined and keenly structured, with expressive blackberry, mocha and dusky spices that take on tension toward broad-shouldered tannins. Drink now through 2030.”

“Hauntingly good, this a stunning new bottling by Philippe Melka. Dense and chewy, once in the month, this takes on a glorious range of flavours from sagebrush and pipe tobacco to blackcurrant jelly and chocolate cake. The vibrant sense of tension and silky tannins both add to the enjoyment, as this has a long way to go in the cellar.”

2018 PEDESTAL MERLOT
COLUMBIA VALLEY | WA
$69.99
The Pedestal Merlot is expertly crafted by world-wide renowned winemaker and consultant, Michel Roland
96 Points | Vinous
“Long Shadows has crafted a beautiful new Right Bank style 2018 Merlot Pedestal, which is nearly all Merlot (82%) with smaller portions of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Once on the nose this shows an intoxicating bouquet of black currant jelly, espresso bean and shades of black licorice candy. The mouthfeel captured here is exquisite as the Merlot seamlessly glides across the mid-palate delivering a decadent core of dark fruits, black licorice, black peppercorn and espresso ground tones. Finishing very long, this is already a beautifully evolved wine that will improve with an hour in the decanter. Drinking Window: 2022 – 2040.”
