2017 CHARDONNAY
WESTER REACH
RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
There is no doubt that DuMOL helped establish the Russian River Valley as a premier growing region for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
Their Chardonnays are all about balance, focus and they’re naturally rich, without being heavy or cloying. The texture is absolutely heavenly and the nuances are sophisticated.
There’s a reason why DuMOL has steadily grown from a few hundred cases to thousands. It’s because they haven’t ever sacrificed quality. The skillful artistry of Winemaker / Partner Andy Smith has helped propel DuMOL to the upper echelons of world class producers from the Russian River Valley.
With a 95 Point score for the 2017 DuMOL Wester Reach Chardonnay from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, now might be the last chance to stock up.
The 2017 Wester Reach Chardonnay perfectly intertwines fruit from three iconic Russian River Valley Vineyards including Dutton Ranch, Charles Heintz and Lorenzo. With the average age of the vines topping 40 years, the deep root systems allow abundant complexity to flow from the earth.
From one of the lowest-yielding vintages in twenty years, the 2017 is concentrated and focused.
The wine was barrel fermented and spent just 12 months in 30% new French oak in order to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
At under $60, this is one of the best values in top-tier California Chardonnay…

From RobertParker.com,
“The 2017 Chardonnay Wester Reach was barrel fermented and aged 12 months on the lees in 30% new oak. It has a mineral-driven nose of petrichor, honey, toasted almonds, Golden apple, white peach and notions of nectarine and hay. Light to medium-bodied, it’s intensely fruited and packs in the savory layers and expressive honeyed notions, lifted by juicy acidity and finishing long, intense and focused. Lovely!” 95 Points

From JebDunnuck.com:
“Incredibly aromatic and complex, the 2017 Pinot Noir Wester Reach offers loads of spiced red fruits, incense, wood smoke, and forest floor notes as well as a medium-bodied, fresh, focused, yet still pleasure bent style. It’s a classic DuMol Pinot Noir to drink over the coming 5-7 years. This cuvée comes all from the Russian River Valley, from multiple clones, and spent a year in 40% new French oak.” 92 Points

2017 ISOBEL CHARDONNAY
CHARLES HEINTZ VINEYARD
SONOMA COAST
Members price: $69.99 per bottle
From JebDunnuck.com:
“I loved the 2017 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard Isobel, one of the standouts in the lineup. Named after winemaker Andy Smith’s daughter and from a site far out on the Sonoma Coast, it has a beautifully rich, layered, textured style as well as impressive notes of white peach, white flowers, and honeysuckle. With plenty of fruit, an awesome texture, great balance, and a singular character, it will be better in another year and I suspect will keep for upwards of a decade.” 95 Points
