DAKOTA SHY
2019 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
NAPA VALLEY
Winery Notes: “From carefully selected vineyards, produced in very small quantities and artfully crafted to reflect a sense of place, Dakota Shy wines are a testament to Napa Valley’s reputation for producing the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in the world.”
Dakota Shy was found by partners Todd Newman and Tom Garrett, who is also the winemaker. After joining Turley Wine Cellars in 1999 as a cellar hand, Tom spent 15 years at some of Napa Valley’s finest wineries including Joseph Phelps, Robert Mondavi, and as Assistant Winemaker to Heidi Barrett at Revana.
Since 2013 Tom focuses on his family’s brand, highly regarded Detert Family Vineyards in Oakville, and his other Napa Valley-based winery, Dakota Shy.
Named to represent the balance between the strength and humility of winemaking, the two have reached their shared goal of producing wine to rival the best of what Napa Valley has to offer, producing truly exceptional and profound Cabernet Sauvignon.

From Vinous Media: “The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is soft, pliant and wonderfully inviting, with terrific energy that adds brightness to the red/purplish berry fruit, spice and rose petal flavors. Winery Tasting Notes: “Powerful, lush and dense in the mouth revealing complex layers of dark fruit, chocolate and cassis that shift toward blackberry and mocha notes balanced by dried herbs and spice. Powerful but also beautifully bright and energetic. Impressive combination of concentration and purity. A dark, silky and seductive foreground layered over polished, elegant structure. Delicious now and sure to unfold new layers of flavor and complexity for decades.”

2018 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
NAPA VALLEY
$79.99
From Wine Enthusiast: “This is such an outstanding wine at any price, but here we’re talking about outstanding value as well. Notes of iron and crushed rock lead to a lengthy balance of juicy red fruit and clove. With small amounts of Merlot, Malbec, Saint-Macaire and Cabernet Franc, it shows a deft hand at blending, with lasting notes of black pepper and nuanced oak.”

2015 ‘SLOPE’
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
$75
From Jeb Dunnuck: “The 2015 Slope is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, and it’s not far off the flagship with its awesome bouquet of blackcurrants, crushed rocks, graphite, and tobacco. It’s deep, concentrated, has beautiful sweetness of fruit, and the classic earthiness and minerality that common from the wines of this great estate. Aged 28 months in 75% new French oak, it can be drunk today with incredible pleasure or cellared for two decades.” 96 Points
