Kobalt Cabernet SauvignonKOBALT 2013 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

From Robert Parker, Jr. Wine Advocate
“I loved Kobalt’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. At 100% of the varietal, this 490-case cuvée made by Mark Herold has an opaque purple color, notes of pen ink, blackberry and cassis, cedar wood, a touch of toasty oak and plenty of forest floor in a full-bodied, pure, concentrated style that should drink beautifully for 20-25 or more years.” 95 Points

Buccella Cabernet SauvignonBUCCELLA 2013

A perennial “must have” Cabernet Sauvignon with collectors of Napa’s Finest Cabernet Sauvignon. No reviews on this wine as of yet.

Winery Notes:
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from diverse, premium fruits thoughtfully cultivated by a variety of small vineyards spanning the Napa Valley. Low yields and great clonal pedigree, combined with meticulous farming within a variety of different appellations, are essential to producing our Cabernet Sauvignon. We believe it’s this blend of intensely ripe fruit that results in our wine’s unique character, complexity, depth and balance.

Cresta Velia Cabernet SauvignonCRESTA VELIA

Rising star winemaker, John Giannini is that Assistant Winemaker to Thomas Rivers Brown at Outpost Vineyards on Howell Mountain. The source of this Cabernet Sauvignon is the Eagle Summit Vineyard on Howell Mountain, farmed by Josh Clark. Josh produces about 100 cases of an Eagle Summit vineyard designate Cabernet Sauvignon he sells for about $105. In just a few vintages, Giannini is already grabbing the attention of critics like Robert Parker, as well as Cabernet lovers who have the right connection.

From Robert Parker, Jr. Wine Advocate
“These are two reasonable values in high-quality mountain Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa from chef and owner John Giannini. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a limited production cuvée that exhibits an opaque purple color and notes of cassis and blackberry liqueur, some licorice and underlying earthy notes. It is full-bodied, rich, dense and super-impressive for a relatively new producer. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Eagle Summit Vineyard on Howell Mountain and was aged 20 months in 80% new French oak.” 95 Points

Tor Family To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet SauvignonTOR 2013 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon, or course, comes from that great first-growth vineyard, and what’s not to like, as everyone seems to nail a classic Cabernet from this large holding on the valley floor in Oakville. Deep purple, with notes of creosote, charcoal, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit as well as some licorice and background oak, this wine has great intensity, a magnificent mouthfeel and texture, and a long, long finish.” 96 Points

Lewis Reserve Cabernet SauvignonLEWIS 2013

Winery Notes: “The stunning color and seductive nose, alone, make the 2013 Reserve Cabernet among our most compelling bottles ever. Shining dark and explosively ripe with black fruit, candle wax and brooding oak spice, this 100% Cabernet blend is sexy, smart, and irresistible. The palate forms a massive arc of concentrated blackberry with creamy texture, chocolate, and notes of clove and espresso. Gorgeously fine-tuned tannins drive and define the celestial boundaries of this otherworldly wine.”

Orin Swift Papillon Proprietary Red WineORIN SWIFT

From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2013 Papillon Proprietary Red is 100% from Napa and is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. This killer wine has an inky purple color and offers notes of espresso roast intermixed with white chocolate, creme de cassis, blackberry and a touch of toasty oak. The wine was aged 16 months in French oak, of which 40% was new. Broad and opulent, with great intensity, purity and depth, this is another stunner from Dave Phinney, a.k.a. Orin Swift.” 95 Points

Rocca Vespera Proprietary Red WineROCCA VINEYARDS

From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2013 Vespera Proprietary Red is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Syrah and 6% Merlot reflecting the family’s affection for Rhône Valley grapes. A deep, dark ruby/purple color, loads of blackberry, roasted meat, Mediterranean lavender and licorice are all present in this full-bodied, complex and sexy wine. This is by far the most nuanced and multifaceted of the Rocca wines, but also the most drinkable. Soft tannins, low acidity and a big, fat, fleshy, meaty Syrah working beautifully with the Cabernet Sauvignon — this is a stunner and a great example of an intelligent blend. Drink it over the next 7-8 years” 95 Points

Calera Mills Pinot NoirCALERA

From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2012 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard comes from 26-year-old own-rooted vines and was harvest September 20 to October 17. Aged 18 months in 30% new French oak, its semi-opaque ruby color is followed by sensational notes of ripe currants and darker fruits, scorched earth, smoked meats, licorice and chalky minerality. Big, rich, full-bodied and layered, with a huge core of fruit that never seems over the top or heavy, this elegant, profound Pinot Noir can be enjoyed anytime over the coming decade or more.” 96 points

Lewis Reserve ChardonnayLEWIS CELLARS

Winery Notes
“Another outstanding year, our 2014 Reserve Chardonnay is an aromatic orchard of blossoms with sweet gardenia and ripe green pear. Lewis Napa ChardonnyLEWIS CELLARS

From Wine Spectator

Orin Swift Mannequin ChardonnayORIN SWIFT

From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2013 Proprietary White Mannequin, which draws fruit from diverse regions of Northern California such as the Carneros Basin and the Sonoma Coast, is actually a blend of 76% Chardonnay, 8% Viognier, 6% Marsanne, 5% Grenache Blanc, 3% Muscat and 2% Roussanne. This is amazing wine, a gorgeous, full-throttle, honeyed wine with a light-gold color, oodles of tropical fruits including pineapple and mango, rose petal and floral notes, and beautifully integrated oak (aged in 40% new French oak on its lees for 11 months). This full-throttle wine is completely different and more individualistic than anything I’ve ever tasted. It is a magnificent, full-throttle, exuberant dry white to drink over the next 3-4 years.” 96 Points

Pahlmeyer Sonoma Coast ChardonnayPAHLMEYER

From Wine Spectator
“An expansive style, with lively acidity. Plump, ripe and buttery, this coats the palate with a rich array of fig, melon and tropical tangerine flavors, adding a floral, jasmine scent, enlivened by a nervy edge of acidity…” 93 Points

From Antonio Galloni’s Vinous,
“Pahlmeyer’s 2013 Chardonnay is gorgeous and the Russian River fruit speaks with notable eloquence. Orange blossom, butter, new French oak, apricot pit, mint and spice notes abound. The 2013 is quite extroverted in style, but less overt than in years past. The new Francois Freres barrels are evident but also very nicely integrated.” 93 Points
