The jury is no longer out! Pinot Noir purists and fervent fans of this varietal have already cast their vote on TEN ACRE!
Although still under the radar, for now, TEN ACRE is one of the up-and-coming Pinot Noir producers to watch, and there is still an opportunity to get on the TEN ACRE bandwagon. If you have not taken the plunge, there is no better time to get on board than right now, with this vintage.
Proprietors Scott and Lynn Adams launched Bella Vineyards and Wine Caves in 1999, which became a very successful destination winery in the Dry Creek Valley, specializing in Zinfandel and Rhone varietal wines.
Since 2002, Scott & Lynn have raised their family on their “slice of heaven”, a small 10-acre vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley.
Since this is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay country, they drew their inspiration from their home vineyard to craft world-class TEN ACRE wines.
Not too many people know grape growing better than Charlie Chenoweth. He is considered one of the top growers and vineyard managers in the north coast region of California, especially for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Just ask the folks at Lynmar, Kosta Browne and Patz and Hall, to name a few.
Charlie keeps a low profile, but within the tight-knight community of the best wine producers in western Sonoma County, he is considered one of the best.
Not many people know this, but Michael Browne of Kosta Browne has hired Charlie to farm his Treehouse Vineyard for Michael’s new label, CIRQ. Treehouse Vineyard was the source of a very successful and popular vineyard designated bottling for TEN ACRE up until the 2010 vintage.
Winemaker Michael Zardo knows Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. For the nine years before joining TEN ACRE, Michael has worked along side Gary and Jeff Pisoni as the assistant winemaker of PISONI Vineyards and Winery (including the famed LUCIA Wines).
Before that he worked at the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-focused Bernardus Winery. TEN ACRE has allowed Michael to flourish and fully develop his creative talents. His artistry is most evident in the TEN ACRE wines.

TEN ACRE 2012 PINOT NOIR
Russian River Valley
The Jenkins Vineyard rests where the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations converge. The vineyard was planted in 2001 by Charlie Chenoweth, a quiet, low-profile grape grower that farms vineyards, behind the scenes, and which go into some of the most prized wines coming out of this region, including Lynmar, Patz & Hall, Kosta Browne, and most recently, CIRQ, Michael Browne’s newest project.
An impressive, voluptuous Pinot Noir with forward fruit of black and red berries, exotic spices, cola, mocha, and luxurious vanilla oak. Beautifully balanced, yet full in the mouth, flowing over the palate revealing layers upon layers of complex varietal nuances, all wrapped in smooth, velvety tannins, and leading to a prolonged, elegant finish. Captivating! ($55)
