Napa Valley winemaker Pam Starr has been making wines for over 25 years. Her portfolio of previous and current winery clients reads like a “Who’s Who” including such noteable wineries as Spottswoode, Sonoma-Cutrer, Edna Valley, and Carmenet. In 1997 she formed a partnership with Charlie Crocker and the prestigious Crocker & Starr Winery was created on the historic “Stone Place” site in St. Helena.
After selling his notable Rosenblum Cellars in 2008, Kent Rosenblum began assisting his daughter, Shauna, in building a new brand called Rock Wall Wine Company. The company produces wines that showcase the characteristics of some of the most prominent vineyards in California. The portfolio includes, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Late Harvest desert wines.
Rocket Science Napa Valley Proprietary Red Wine first came on the scene with the release of the 2002 vintage. Now in its sixth vintage, the wine has gone from obscurity that only a few “insiders” knew about, to becoming a wine that fans of big, well-balanced red wines are asking for by name. Rocket Science was one of the early incarnations of unusual blends that paved the way for such wines as “The Prisoner” and Atrea’s “Old Soul Red”.
In 2010 Pam Starr completed her twenty-seventh harvest, and has been making some of the best wines in Napa Valley during her tenure at a number of prominent wineries. The new release of the Crocker & Starr 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon “Stone Place” is the latest culmination and showcases her talents as a winemaker.
Coho Winery is the culmination of a shared vision by two wine industry veterans with over 50 years combined experience: Brooks Painter (of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and V. Sattui fame) and Gary Lipp (Heitz Cellars, Robert Mondavi, Chalone, Jess Jackson’s Artisans & Estates, Chappellet and Paul Hobbs).
