Perpetually high scoring, the previous two vintages of Black Pine Pinot Noir that we offered earned 93 and 94 point scores, and at $19.99/btl, that’s something to get excited about.
2015 PINOT NOIR
A model Pinot Noir from California’s Sonoma Coast, Black Pine 2015 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast completely defies expectations at this price point and truly should not be missed.
This exhilarating Pinot Noir comes parading from the glass with a fantastic perfume of black raspberries, caramelized cherries, vanilla bean and wild rose. The wines’s stacked mid-palate comes adorned with succulent black fruits, Asian plum, spices, and without a single hard edge to be found.
With production down a staggering 66% from the 2014 vintage, there may not be many opportunities to secure a case of this terrific value Pinot.
Crafted by Drew Huffine, whose experience includes working with many elite Pinot Noir producers including Kosta Browne, DuMOL, Auteur, Copain and Donum.
The 2015 was concocted from carefully chosen vineyard located in the Petaluma Gap, Russian River and Sonoma Coast.
If you’ve tasted any of the earlier vintages of Black Pine, you likely need no further convincing, other than the fact that the 2015 is now available. This is undoubtably one of the winery’s best vintages of Black Pine yet.
2015 PINOT NOIR
Winery Notes: “Fresh and jammy aromas of cola, sarsaparilla black cherry and red plum. The intermingling of these spices add fruit notes with a earthy undertone, announces this as a true Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Medium bodied, flavors of rich cherry, preserved plum and clove finished with a crisp acidity and fine tannins. The finish is long and precise, ending with hints of pomegranate and wet earth. The balance between fresh fruit and earth spice with it’s nice bright finish ensures this wine is a perfect accompaniment to a wide range of delicious cuisine.”
Customers who enjoy Black Pine’s Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, may also enjoy these two terrific Pinot Noirs…
From The Wine Enthusiast, “Hibiscus, rose, juniper, clove, marjoram and graphite aromas all show on the nose of this Foley family wine, which is light yet powerful in finesse and depth. Plummy fruits meet with incense, pine needle and herbal, forest-floor intrigue on the palate.” 93 Points
A Wine Country Connection “Customer Favorite”, LULI is the culmination of a unique partnership between Master Sommelier, Sara Floyd and the Pisoni Family, with Jeff Pisoni at the winemaking helm.
Winery Notes: “The 2014 Luli Pinot Noir has a beautiful combination of aromatics and texture. Deep ruby in color, the wine starts out with an exuberant display of wild strawberry, rich raspberry, earl grey tea, and dried rose petals. The cool summer temperatures of the Santa Lucia Highlands create these expansive aromatics. While the rugged, granite soils deliver the wine’s texture – layers of tannins unfold into a broad finish with great depth of flavor and bright acidity.”
